I got a new gadget last week.  It’s made a complete change in my life.  It’s satisfied my desire for a treat and it has saved me money!  A treat that is actually a decent, healthful option.  Aren’t you glad I am telling you about this?!

coffee and frothercup

My sister introduced me to the fabulous frother.  I bought one last week and have used it every day!  What is a frother?  It’s basically bringing Starbucks to your house.   Use your favorite coffee, some milk and froth away to make a foamy confection and you have a fancy coffee drink for a fraction of the price.  I love it because depending on what I am in the mood for I can make it half-caf or decaf.  My favorite coffee drink so far is 1/2 coffee, 1/2 milk and a dash of cinnamon.  Then I make it fluffy with the frother and top it off with more cinnamon.  Sip and enjoy.

In the evening I like to make a steamer with honey and cinnamon.  I just tried adding sugar-free vanilla syrup this morning.  It was delish!  Soon, I am going try a vanilla milkshake for the kids!  I used the frother in the kids’ hot chocolate but they weren’t huge fans.  I bet if I used it to make a milkshake, they might feel differently!  I also want to get a chai mix to add to the repertoire.  According to a review I read online, the frother also works well with almond milk!

I just wanted to share a fun, simple way to treat yourself to a fabulous treat for a fraction of the price you would pay at a coffee shop.  I paid $20 for the frother.  A coffee drink at Starbucks costs an average of $4.00.  I have used it more than five times and so it’s already paid off for me.

The frother gives me an excuse to sit and be still.  You can’t sip a fancy drink on the run.  It’s a reason to take a breather, read a book, read devotions or write.  I appreciate a moment to be still.

What yummy drink would you make with a frother?  What encourages stillness for you?  Leave a comment and let me know!
